Legal, Privacy Policy & Terms of Service
Last Updated: March 3, 2026
Welcome to Nook ("we," "our," or "us"). We provide a recipe management and social platform (the "App"). By using our App, you agree to these Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Part 1: Terms of Service & Copyright Policy
1. User Responsibilities (Personal Use)
Nook allows users to import, save, and organize recipes from across the web. You, the user, are solely responsible for the content you save, import, or publish on the App.
- All imported content is strictly for personal, non-commercial use only.
- You may not use the App to mass-distribute, monetize, or republish copyrighted materials.
2. Third-Party Content & Scraping
The App functions as a personal bookmarking and extraction tool.
- No Ownership: We do not own, nor do we claim to own, the recipes, text, or images displayed via the import feature. All third-party content belongs to its respective original creators.
- Fair Use: The App extracts factual culinary data (ingredients, measurements) which are not subject to copyright.
- Imagery: To respect the intellectual property of food photographers, Nook does not host or reproduce original photos from third-party websites without permission. The App utilizes placeholder imagery from licensed providers (e.g., Unsplash) instead.
3. AI Disclosure (Transparency)
In compliance with global AI transparency regulations:
- The App uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to "read" and extract factual data from URLs you provide.
- Instructional steps imported via the App are automatically "summarized" and paraphrased using AI to prevent the direct reproduction of copyrighted literary expression.
- Nutritional values are estimated by AI models based on extracted ingredients and may not be 100% accurate.
4. DMCA / Copyright Complaints
